On New Year's Day 2008 I decided I wanted to begin running. I completed several 5k's & 10k's. In 2009 I came across a website, applied for free marathon training & was accepted. I completed 9 half marathons and 4 full marathons. Thank you Twenty Six Two Marathon Club.

With so many pools in Austin to choose from, putting in an hour of swimming does a body good. Most of the pools are free such as Metz, Martin, Big Stacy, Mabel Davis and Garrison. The following charge $3 for adults, $2 for teens and $1 for children at Barton Springs, Deep Eddy and Bartholomew.

Exercise

Work outs are part of my weekly routine. My goal is 3 days per week. Exercise maintains physical fitness and overall health and wellness. It also challenges your mental strength and willpower but after you prove to yourself how capable you truly are, it's rewarding.

There are many biking trails around Austin for all levels of experience. A popular one is Butler Hike & Bike Trail which includes beautiful downtown scenery and the smooth boardwalk viewing Lady Bird Lake. Other favorites are Southern Walnut Creek Trail located in East Austin and Veloway Park in South Austin.

My son invited me to a CG workout in 2017, I went and enjoyed it very much. I visited many times through out the year and finally went BOLD.  I absolutely love the workouts. If you're interested in trying out a an onsite or virtual class contact Brad let him know I sent you. #BetterTogether

Walking

Walking is so good for you, so get out there and get your 30 minutes of walking done daily. My choice is during my breaks at work I hit the trail for a good walk. If it's raining I'll walk inside my building. Enjoy nature, strengthen your memory, lift your spirits and get moving.
